The 3 Little Pigs
Rewritten by: Alyssa Walker
“Wylie, son, listen close. Today we are going to go meet some friends. I need you to act very nice and cute. Can you do that for me?” Dad asked as I trotted along happily beside him. “Of course, Daddy!” I replied. I asked him who we were going to meet, but he said I’d find out when we got there. Daddy and I always go out on adventures together, but usually it’s just the two of us. I wasn’t so sure I liked the idea of someone joining us.
Yes, Holden is an unreliable narrator.
Here are 5 things that we can learn by reading the first page of the book. In class we talked about 18 different things that you can learn from the first page of a novel, I chose 5 to tell you about.
I believe that students should read the Catcher in the Rye. It is a very well written book that is from the view of a relatable adolescent. Although, students nowadays are feeling that can relate less and less to Holden. The book can help us reflect on adolescents of a different time and show students now that students 30 years ago loved Holden. I think students should read the book because it is well written, relatable, and helps teens reflect.
Harry Vs. Holden
Alyssa Walker
Kids nowadays don’t view Holden the same as they used to in the 60’s when kids adored him. Today, kids prefer characters like Harry Potter. I think this is because Harry is smart, considerate, and selfless.
